Race 1 - Daytona Empty Race 1 - Daytona

"Well, I gotta admit this wasn't my best idea of a "race". Most of the laps consisted of yellow flag laps, which pushed all the drivers' patience lower and lower, and actually annoyed a racer so much he left. But all-and-all, it was one of my more favorite MRO races ever."

Starting off in practice, drivers constantly complained about the awful grip and loose handling of Daytona's turns. Some drivers fine tuned their cars to get a good handle on things, but it still did not stop the slick surface.

Burnout stunned the crowd with an unbelievable time, which instantly gave him the pole award, following by Lilpilburn and DerekE. Klutch, a driver expected to take the pole, actually wiped out during his qualifying laps. Yes, even qualification was intense. Laughing

Then it came down to race time. Although there were too many cautions to count, there was a lot of epic racing, consisting of 3 wide driving, great drafting, and plenty more. When it came down to it though, it was a Green White Checkered, with Drillz in the lead, and the rest right behind on the restart. When the green flag waved, it was on from there. But all of a sudden, Drillz apparently suffered a mechanical issue, and dropped back fast. Klutch then took the lead, with DerekE and Burnout directly behind him, charging up fast. With 3 to go, DerekE takes the inside of Klutch, and they continue to race side by side for the lead all the way onto the backstretch. By the end of the back stretch, Klutch had regained his complete spot in the front, with DerekE right on his tail. DerekE followed right behind Klutch all the way through turns 3 and 4, and the front stretch.

Then it was 2 to go. A few feet after the pack passed the finish line, DerekE smacks the wall and spins off into the infield, collecting and slowing Austin. After that, with Drillz and his mechanical failure, and DerekE and Austins crash, it was just Burnout and Klutch to battle it out. After keeping his lead for a whole lap, Klutch had it in the bag, and went on for another lap to take his win.

It was indeed a fun race, almost everyone enjoyed themselves, and I personally hope to see them race with us in the future for races to come.
